Gig Ridge Claveria Review: Affordable Staycation in Misamis Oriental (2026 Guide)
Has everyone already been to Claveria? Claveria is one of the well-known tourist destinations in Misamis Oriental. If you’re looking for a staycation there, you might feel overwhelmed because of the many options available. So in this blog, I’ll share one affordable and beautiful place where you can stay overnight—perfect for couples, families, barkada, or even workers having a team-building activity. This is Gig Ridge, commonly known as Gig Ridge Claveria, located in Sitio Civoleg, Brgy. Lunotan, Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental.

Confused about Claveria and Gingoog? Gig Ridge is administratively part of Civoleg, a sitio in Brgy. Lunotan, Gingoog City pero it is commonly identified as being located in Claveria. When we searched on Facebook, we typed “overnight stay in Claveria,” and Gig Ridge appeared in the results. Malapit din ito sa other tourist destinations in Claveria such as Claveria View Deck, Julio’s Café and Restaurant, Europe Cuisine, Hiraya Farm Escape, the Cebu Pacific Flight 387 crash site, and Doalnara—where visitors can buy organic products and pasalubong.
Gig Ridge Claveria Review (Our Stay Experience)
Story-telling muna. We were actually looking for a staycation to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Hinahanap namin yung malamig na lugar, perfect for unwinding and relaxing, with a nature view—and of course, something budget-friendly. That’s when we found Gig Ridge Resort, which had just opened last December. I sent them a direct message agad on Facebook for details, and nagustuhan ko din naman ang inclusions and amenities nila—they were exactly what we were looking for.
Gig Ridge Claveria Room Rates:
- A-Frames (₱1,699) – good for 2 pax, includes breakfast for 2, maximum of 3 pax. No private CR, but the units are near common restrooms (2 for women, 2 for men).
- 10-footer ConVan (₱2,399) – this is the room we chose. When we entered, it was cute, clean, and napakabango.
- 10-footer ConGlass (₱3,199) – both are good for 2 pax (max 3), each with its own CR.
For families and groups:
- 20-footer ConVan (₱4,999) – good for 6 pax, max 8
- 20-footer ConGlass (₱5,699) – good for 4 pax, max 6
(Both include free breakfast and have their own comfort room)
What’s the difference between ConVan and ConGlass? As the name suggests, ConVan is a container van with windows, while ConGlass has a glass wall in front so you can enjoy the outside view from your room.
They also have:
- Glass House (₱6,199) – good for 4 pax, has own CR, kitchen, utensils, and mini pool
- Bamboo House (₱6,999) – good for 6 pax has own CR and outdoor kitchen (with utensils)
For extra guests (within max capacity), there is an additional ₱600 per head, which includes breakfast.
If you like camping, they also have a camping site with designated cemented areas for tents:
- Tent rental: Regular (₱1,000, 2–3 pax), Medium (₱1,300, 3–4 pax), Large (₱1,600, 4–6 pax)
- Bring your own tent: Regular (₱500), Medium (₱700), Large (₱1,000)
Currently, they are still building more rooms, so expect more accommodations to be available soon. Rates may change, so it’s best to check their official Facebook page for updates.
Their restaurant, which is very close to our accommodation, is open, clean and comfortable. Their menu includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner, and it closes at 8 PM. So for dinner, you need to order ahead so they can prepare your food on time. Honestly, I found their food really delicious.
The place is spacious, at may mga areas sila where you can view forested mountains and waterfalls while relaxing on a swing. There are also spots na may upuan at mesa kung saan pwedeng magtambay and enjoy a bonfire. They even have an obstacle course—we had so much fun competing as a couple (just be careful, you might get sore! LOL).
There’s also a swimming pool near the entrance, but the water is very cold, so hindi na muna kami naligo. It was freezing!
At night, the place gets even colder. Walang aircon ang mga rooms nila—only electric fans—but honestly, we didn’t even need them especially at night. The place is peaceful, and we took some photos because there are spots with nice lightings. Videoke is also allowed until 10 PM only so as not to disturb other guests.
The next morning, we woke up early at around 5 AM, hoping it would be foggy. It was cold, but we didn’t experience a “sea of clouds.” Akala ko din na makikita namin ang actual sunrise, but it was too cloudy, so we just went back to sleep nalang. Haha!
Their complimentary breakfast was delicious and colorful, and we enjoyed the moment since it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves—parang kami lang yung guests that time. After breakfast and taking photos, we started packing up as it was almost time to check out. Check-in time is 2:00 PM, and check-out is 12:00 noon.
Important Reminders Before Booking:
- Full payment is required to secure your reservation.
- Refunds are not offered under any circumstances, and room assignments are fixed. If you need to reschedule your stay, please do so at least a week in advance of your scheduled arrival.
- Pets are welcome, though their owners need to keep a close eye on them.
- Security deposit of ₱500 is required upon booking. This will be refunded through your Gcash account upon check-out, provided na walang damages or missing items in the room.

Final Verdict: Is Gig Ridge Claveria Worth It?
Overall, the experience was great, and I would definitely recommend it to others. We truly enjoyed the beauty of nature, ang malamig na simoy ng hangin, ang malinis and peaceful na kapaligiran, pati na rin ang mga friendly staff. WiFi is available, but it usually doesn’t reach inside the rooms, so we truly appreciate the place even more – it gave us a chance to unplug and unwind.
